Isover Spacesaver, general purpose glass mineral wool rolls

Spacesaver from St. Gobain, glass mineral wool insulation rolls suitable for providing thermal insulation in domestic-type pitched roofsThese high quality thermal insulation mats or insulation rolls are suitable for providing thermal insulation in domestic-type pitched roofs come in roll form, perforated along the roll to allow the user the choice from a single roll of full, half, or one third width options to suit normal roof joist spacings.
The strong, resilient and flexible mats are supplied compression packed and are easy to cut and install.

Description

Isover Spacesaver rolls are high quality thermal insulation mats in roll form, perforated along the roll to allow the user the choice of full, half or third width options from a single roll.
Isover general purpose roll is supplied in ready-cut widths to suit normal roof joist spaces. The strong, resilient and flexible mats are supplied compression packed and are easy to cut and install.

Building Regulations Compliance

England and Wales - Part L 2006
New build properties: The required wall U-value will be decided by the designer based on a whole-building 'SAP 2005' computer assessment of carbon emissions.
The U-value can vary depending upon several factors, including air leakage rate and heating fuel type.
Isover recommended U-value for new buildings Roofs = 0.13 W/m2K
Extension work to existing buildings: There are specified U-values for newly constructed elements in an extension.
Actual U-value for extensions = 0.16 W/m2K
Scotland - Section 6
There are two methods of demonstrating compliance, of which the Elemental Method, with stipulated U-values for roof, wall and floor elements, is the simplest.
Isover recommended U-value for new buildings Roofs = 0.16 W/m2K
For extensions,there is a prescribed U-value.

Ecological Information

Isover Loft Insulation products are made from glass mineral wool, one of the most environmentally friendly insulants available.
Sustainable
Isover Loft Insulation products are manufactured from silica sand, the earth's most abundantly occurring mineral and a sustainable, infinite resource.

Recyclable

Approximately 80% of the raw material used in the production of Isover Loft Insulation products is recycled, far more than any comparable product. The recycled material can be post-consumer glass (from housing generation projects) or waste glass from flat glass manufacture, which would otherwise go to landfill.

Environmental

The manufacturing process does not use or contain CFC's, HCFC's or other damaging gases - nor has it ever. In addition, the unique resilience of Isover glass mineral wool enables high compression packing which means more insulation in a smaller space than almost any other insulant. The result is better vehicle utilisation, reducing the environmental impact
of transportation.

EcoHomes/Sustainable Homes

Isover Loft Insulation products achieve full credit under EcoHomes performance for zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than 5.
